SAAB History

Saab, Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (SAAB) - Swedish company, which is engaged in production of trucks and cars. The headquarters of the company is in the Swedish town of Trollhättan. Currently the firm belongs to the concern "General Motors."

 

The company was founded in 1937. First it was producing military aircraft. But after the end of World War II military aircraft orders fell sharply. It was decided to realigning the company. In autumn 1945 the company started to develop mikrolitrajnogo car. The first model of the Saab-92 appeared in 1949. It was established by the time enough perfect aerodynamic body. The car was front wheel drive.
